Description

Melgund Castle is a four-storey L-plan ruin that includes a two-storey wing built at the same time. The castle features vaulted basements and corbelled parapets, and the tower has an attic storey above. It dates from the second half of the 16th century. One of the lintels displays a carved shield along with the initials D.B.
