3 Hudson Square, Montrose

3 Hudson Square in Montrose is an early 19th-century house, possibly incorporating earlier materials. It is a single-storey and attic, 3-bay structure with a painted harl finish on the front and rubble at the rear, featuring a base course and raised painted margins.

On the west elevation, there is a central doorpiece with an architrave, consoles, and cornice, along with a rectangular 3-pane fanlight made of etched glass. The door is panelled and has two replacement glazed panels, with panelled jambs. Flanking the door are windows, with canted dormers centered above. To the right, there is a single-storey, single-bay addition.

The east elevation has three windows at ground floor level. The south elevation features a rendered gable end with an advanced piended single-storey, single-bay addition beneath it. The north elevation adjoins No 2 Hudson Square.

The house has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, with plate glass in the dormers. It has a grey slate roof and stone skews, along with a rendered gablehead stack on the south side. The interior was not seen in 1998.
