Description
East Block at Manor Works on Manor Street in Forfar was built in 1863 and is a classic example of industrial architecture. This three-storey, two-aisle south block features a symmetrical south front with a central block that has 13 windows. The end sections have three advanced quoin angles, and the windows are segment-headed with rusticated voussoirs above a central archway. The gables are adorned with urns, and the wings, which are set back, have three windows each with quadrant angles and bipartite windows. The building is constructed of snecked rubble and includes cast-iron columns and wooden floors. At the west side, there is an engine house with an octagonal brick chimney.
