Description
The cemetery in Kirriemuir features several notable old red sandstone crosses.
The first cross measures 1 foot 11 inches by 1 foot 6 inches and has hollow square angles with figures, including two panels on the back depicting figures, a comb, and a mirror.
The second cross is larger, measuring 2 feet 9 inches by 1 foot 9 inches, and also has hollow angles adorned with interlaced work, showcasing beasts, a staghunt, a double disc, and a Z-rod design.
The third cross consists of only the lower part and measures 2 feet 2 inches by 1 foot 8 inches, featuring hollow square angles with interlaced work and a horseman depicted on the back.
The fourth cross, also just the lower part, measures 2 feet by 1 foot 6 inches and includes an angel.
Lastly, there is a smaller cross measuring 1 foot 6 inches by 1 foot 4 inches, which has hollow angles and interlaced work.
