Description

Early 19th century. 3-storey and attic, 4-bay tenement in irregular terrace with shops at ground, sandstone ashlar to front, rendered to side, band course above ground floor.

E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: modern shopfronts at ground, regular fenestration at 1st and 2nd, 2 canted, piended dormers above.

S ELEVATION: adjoining 20 High Street.

N ELEVATION: gable end to left, 1 bay to right, 2-bay section extending W, doorway to left at ground, ashlar porch, 5-pane rectangular fanlight, 1 window at 1st and 2nd floors above, opening at ground to right, window lighting staircase above.

W ELEVATION: blank gable end.

Timber casement windows at 1st, timber sash and case at 2nd floor and to dormers. Grey slate; stone skew; brick gablehead stack to N, tall and broad brick stack on party wall to S; cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

BOUNDARY WALLS: rubblestone boundary walls to rear extending W.
