Description
The Queen's Hotel, located at 12-14 Cross in Forfar, was built in 1885 and is designed in the style of John Carver. This three-storey building features snecked rubble construction, a central gablet, and a rounded corner topped with a spirelet. There is a V-plan oriel window on the first floor. At the rear, there is a two-storey wing from the early 19th century, constructed of coursed rubble with a Tuscan pilaster doorpiece, and a single-storey office wing from the 18th century. The building has been re-categorised as C(S) from B for its group interest in 2006, which includes consideration of both the interior and exterior as relevant to its type.
