Description

The Royal Bank of Scotland, located at 6 and 7 Cross in Forfar, was designed by David MacGibbon in 1862 for the National Bank. This three-storey building features a baronial style, constructed from bull-faced rubble. Notable architectural elements include a central canted bay that is corbelled to a square and has a crowstepped gable. The building has been re-categorised as C(S) from B for its group interest in 2006, which applies to both the interior and exterior as relevant to its building type.
