Arched Entrance And Wall, 11-19 Culbert Street, Portsoy

11, 13, 15, 17, 19, and 21 Culbert Street in Portsoy is a building dating from around 1830, designed in the style of architect William Robertson from Elgin, and likely incorporating earlier work. It has been recently converted into flatted dwellings. The structure is a 2-storey, L-plan range with four regular bays facing Culbert Street and four slightly irregular bays on Low Street, connected by a bowed and recessed angle. The exterior features harled walls with tooled ashlar margins. The windows are timber sash and case with 8- and 12-pane glazing, and the building has margined and coped end and ridge stacks, topped with a slate roof that includes modern rooflights.

At the rear, there is a courtyard wall that separates the court from the street. This mid-19th century wall is made of high coped rubble and features a keystoned, basket-arched entrance with an ashlar cope that connects the end dies with pyramidal caps.
