Meldrum Parish Church And Burial-Ground, Kirk Brae, Old Meldrum

Meldrum Parish Church and Burial-Ground, located on Kirk Brae in Old Meldrum, was originally built in 1684 and enlarged in 1767. It underwent partial reconstruction by William Smith in 1861, focusing mainly on the south aisle and the bellcote, with further alterations made in 1886 by Matthews and Mackenzie. The church closed in 1938 and was internally reconstructed by George Bennet Mitchell & Son in 1954. The church is designed in an Early Gothic style and has a T-plan layout. It features harled walls with old surface granite dressings at the jambs and voussoirs, along with dark granite dressings made from quarried granite. There are three north-facing windows with wooden tracery, two of which are old and one modern. Additionally, there is a two-light window on the west gable, a two-light window on the south gable, and an asymmetrical bellcote.
