Description

Racquets Court at Fyvie Castle was built in 1903 for Alexander Forbes Leith. This covered, detached squash court building is designed in a vigorous crenellated and bartizaned neo-Baronial style. The exterior is harled with red sandstone dressings and features finely carved inset heraldic panels made of Italian marble and sandstone. On the south gable, there is a carved Italian marble fountain basin set into a blind gothic window with white marble cusped tracery. The building has a grazed pitched roof and clerestory windows. Additionally, there is a lean-to along the west wall that contains a bowling alley with a concrete floor and timber ditches.
