Description

This boathouse dates to around 1816 or 1820. It is a square gabled building situated on the loch, with a semi-elliptical arch in the southwest gable. The arch is flanked by substantial square buttresses topped with pinnacles. The construction is pinned rubble with red sandstone dressings. A figurehead is positioned outside. It may be one of the buildings referred to as "The other houses in the garden" in William Gordon’s account of improvements made to Fyvie.
