Description
79 and 81 Castle Street in Banff is a two-storey house with an attic, dating from the later 18th century, featuring additions and alterations. The building has three bays and includes a shop or office. It is finished with harled walls and painted ashlar margins. The central door is accompanied by an additional door to the right, which replaces a window, and there is a later flanking window. On the ground floor, there are two windows that face Clunie Street. The first floor has regular window arrangements with four-pane timber sash and case glazing, while the office has plate glass. The roof is slate-covered and piended at the street angle, topped with a coped ridge stack, and there are two modern box dormers.
