Description

Mid to late 19th century. Single storey, U-plan farm building group with L-plan farmhouse to S abutting L-plan steading to N to form courtyard. Squared and snecked granite rubble, large rybats and lintels to openings, long and short quoins.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 3-bay, single storey and attic cottage with harled double bay addition to right, roof piended to right. Symmetrical elevation with advanced timber, gabled porch to centre with small rectangular windows to flanking bays. Timber-framed canted roof dormers to outer bays.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: 4-bay, single storey former steading, terminating in gable end to right and roof piended to E return to left. Single small, square window to centre.

E (SIDE) ELEVATION: 6-bay. 4-bay steading to right, harled 2-bay cottage addition abutting to left. Slightly advanced corner bay to cottage with further advanced, bowed, 5-light window to centre.

W (COURTYARD) ELEVATION: irregular fenestration with rear door to centre right of rear section. Outhouse with cat-slide roof to centre of right, cottage wing.

Predominantly 4-pane, timber framed sash and case windows. Grey slates, lead flashing. Coped skews and gable stacks.
