Description

Mains Of Hallhead is a single-story coach house with a U-shaped layout. The building dates to 1703 and is part of a larger house and landscape, although only a fragment of the original layout remains. A finely moulded coach house arch, with an Inverted Geometric Renaissance (I.G.M.R.) panel above it, is a prominent feature. The arch is now situated further away from the main house than depicted in the original plans, and it appears to have been rebuilt in its current location during the 1890s. Ancillary buildings that were originally located to the north and south of the coach house are no longer present.
