Description
Old Mains of Cushnie is an 18th-century, two-storey, three-window house built of harl-pointed rubble. A single-storey west wing is attached. The first floor features stone dormer heads. The interior was reconstructed in 1973. During this work, a stone bearing the coat of arms of Alexander Lumsden of Cushnie (born 1645, died 1714) was discovered. Alexander Lumsden likely built Cushnie House either in 1688 or 1707, and possibly Old Mains of Cushnie at the same time.
