Description

St Bride’s Churchyard is a near rectangular enclosure surrounded by a rubble wall, containing a noteworthy collection of 18th and 19th century tomb sculpture. The churchyard includes a good selection of memorials dating from the 18th century. The site is owned by Forestry Commission Scotland. The listing excludes the Scheduled Monument, St Bride's Church, Cushnie (Monument No. 5620). The statutory address of the churchyard is St. Bride's Churchyard, Cushnie, excluding the aforementioned church. Historical maps from 1869 show the churchyard on Ordnance Survey Sheet LXXI.I, at a scale of 25 inches to the mile. A historic building survey and assessment was undertaken in 2014 by Addyman Archaeology.
