Description
Alexander Scott's Hospital, located on Gladstone Road in Huntly, was designed by A. Marshall Mackenzie in 1901. This large building features a Scots-perpendicular style with a symmetrical composition. The main block is three stories high and includes a square battlemented porte-cochere tower, flanked by two-story advance wings. The structure is constructed of snecked granite with dressings made of Auchindoir freestone. At the rear, there is a previous symmetrical group of hospital buildings designed by William Smith, which were built between 1853 and 1868 and are in the Scots baronial style with harled surfaces.
