Description

Breda is a building designed by A. Marshall Mackenzie of Matthews and Mackenzie, completed in 1894. It features a main block that is two stories and an attic, or three stories, and includes a circular entrance tower with a conical roof. There is also a single-storey wing with an attic, which has a diagonally set angle tower that is corbelled to a square shape at the first floor. The structure is made of coursed red granite and is designed in the 16th-century Scots manner. The original house to the west was demolished in 1963.
