Description

Bogendollo is a farmhouse likely built in the early 19th century, with a rear wing that was probably added before 1863, and 20th-century extensions to the west. This traditional two-storey, three-bay L-plan farmhouse features original openings and is situated near the remains of a large U-plan former steading within the grounds of Fasque House. The exterior is finished with painted harl and roughly coursed snecked rubble on the rear wing, complemented by large, roughly squared rubble quoins.

The symmetrical principal elevation faces south and has widely spaced bays, with a central door flanked by windows on the ground floor and regular window placement near the eaves on the first floor. The north elevation features a blank gable of the projecting wing on the left, while the altered west elevation includes a tall harled rectangular projection adjoining the left gable and a porch on the right.

The windows are primarily timber sash and case with multi-pane glazing patterns. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there is a coped ashlar stack on the rear wing, along with rebuilt brick stacks on the east and west gables, all fitted with cans and thackstanes. The skews are ashlar-coped with block skewputts.

Inside, the farmhouse retains simple vernacular details, including low ceilings, plain cornices, and four and six-panelled architraved doors. There are panelled shutters, wall cupboards, and dado rails. The kitchen features a small cast iron range, and there is a plain-balustered dog-leg staircase. The bathroom includes a cast-iron bath on decorative feet and a decorative timber fire surround.
