Description

The Fish House and Store is a three-storey, former rectangular-plan granary built around 1827 to 1837, with a later fish store added in 1896. The fish store features three gabled ranges and is attached at right angles to the west of the former granary, which is located adjacent to the harbour. The former granary is constructed of random pink sandstone rubble and has a replacement piended roof. The later fish store is made of roughly squared, snecked, and tooled red stone, topped with a slated roof that includes some rooflights. The building features long and short ashlar dressings, along with some blocked openings. There is a segmental arched opening on the ground floor to the left of the north elevation, which has two-leaf doors. The ground floor to the right of the north elevation has enlarged openings with non-traditional windows. A date stone with the initials 'JSB' is located at the center of the west elevation.

The interior, as seen in 2013, has wood-lined walls on the ground floor of the former granary. The gabled fish store contains a kiln in the south bay, along with timber racks.
