Description

The burial ground at Inn Brae, Longside, primarily dates to around 1836 and consists of rubble walls. Some stones within the walls are of 18th century origin. A prominent obelisk stands within the burial ground, bearing the inscription "Erected/in 1861/to indicate the grave/of Jamie/Fleeman/in answer to his prayer/dinna bury me like a beast." The burial ground is recognised for its group value and the listing applies to both the interior and exterior. References to the burial ground can be found in Jervise, volume 1, pages 95-100.
