Description
Station Lodge and Gatepiers, located on the Pitfour House Estate, was built around 1820 to 1830. This single-storey gatelodge features a timber porch supported by Doric columns arranged in a distyle in antis, set within a barge-boarded entrance gable. The gable ends have deep eaves and are adorned with fleur-de-lis barge-boards. The main elevations are constructed of rendered rubble with granite ashlar dressings, while the porch is made of rendered brick. The windows have consoled hoods and retain T-shaped glazing bars, along with shutters. The roof is slated. The property is flanked by two pairs of plain granite ashlar gatepiers topped with flat pyramid caps, and there are cast-iron gates with single pedestrian gates on either side.
