Old House, Mains Of Badenscoth

Old House at Mains Of Badenscoth features the remains of an extensive 18th century layout, with the main part of the house demolished in 1939. The structure includes a mid 18th century two-storey east wing designed in an L-shape, which has skewputs and a piend roof. This wing contains a kitchen and a notable late 18th century chimney piece on the first floor, with another chimney piece surviving in the new house. There is also a pyramid-roofed outbuilding that has blue dressings and a fine lintel by James Gordon, which features a crest. The property is accessed through low gatepiers that are capped with balls and feature alternating plain and fluted courses.
