Description
679 King Street in Aberdeen is an 18th-century cottage that was altered in the 19th century. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring a deep plan and broad end stacks, topped with a slated roof.
The west elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a timber gabled porch in the center bay, with single windows on either side. There are three windows on the first floor, all featuring a 12-pane sash and case glazing pattern. Above the outer bays, there are canted 3-light dormer windows from the mid-19th century, which have 2 and 4-pane sash and case glazing.
On the rear (east) elevation, there is a 20th-century porch addition over the center bay, originally accessed by a pair of steps. Flanking this are 12-pane sash and case windows with cills at ground level, and three 4-pane sash and case windows on the first floor.
