Description
130-132 Union Street in Aberdeen is a classical tenement building designed by Archibald Simpson in 1830. It stands four storeys high with an attic, featuring a six by three-bay layout on a prominent corner site. The building is constructed from grey granite ashlar, with some banded piers at the ground level. The ground floor on the south elevation facing Union Street has round-arched openings on the left side. Architectural details include a band course, a cill course at the third storey, and a cornice. There are also some piended dormers. The upper storeys predominantly have 12-pane timber sash and case windows, while the shop fronts feature plate glass. The building is topped with large, tall coped gable stacks.
