Description
The Gordon Highlanders' Obelisk Memorial, located in Duthie Park, Aberdeen, was built in 1898. It is a triangular obelisk made of grey granite. The memorial features a tooled plinth that narrows as it rises to a corniced obelisk. Each side of the obelisk displays the crest of the Gordon Highlanders, along with their motto "Bydand," which means "stand fast." The top of the obelisk is adorned with grotesque masks.
