Description
67 King's Gate in Aberdeen is an early 20th-century villa featuring a single storey and attic with a rectangular plan and three bays. The exterior is made of finely finished, tooled, coursed grey granite, with overhanging eaves.
The north elevation is asymmetrical, showcasing a shallow bowed bay that advances to the center, flanked by three symmetrically placed windows. Above, there is a tripartite rectangular-plan dormer on the attic floor. To the right, there is a tripartite window in the flanking bay, and to the left, a convex-shouldered tripartite window.
The west elevation is symmetrical, with a central doorway leading to a bowed canopy of an open porch supported by rustic timber columns. There are windows in the flanking bays on either side, and a modern skylight is located in the center of the attic floor.
The south elevation was not visible in 2000.
The east elevation is asymmetrical, featuring small canted windows in the bays to the center and left, and a bipartite window to the right. There is also a glazed wing adjoining the outer left.
The villa has timber sash and case windows as well as PVCu windows. The roof is covered with piended grey slate and has lead ridges, with coped stacks breaking the pitch and square-plan cans. The rainwater goods are made of cast iron.
The boundary walls are constructed of Aberdeen bond granite with granite coping.
