Description

George Sutherland and Clement George, 1927. 2-storey, 3-bay villa. Tooled coursed grey granite ashlar, with contrasting pink granite long and short dressings finely finished to margins. Moulded projecting cills to 1st floor; eaves course; overhanging eaves.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical; round-arched deeply chamfered doorway to centre of ground floor, tiled round steps; panelled timber door flanked by glazed panels; bipartite window to 1st floor above; 5-light canted window with stylised crenellated parapets to ground floor of bays to left and right, tripartite windows to 1st floor above.

E ELEVATION: predominantly blank.

N ELEVATION: not seen 2000.

W ELEVATION: window to right of 1st floor.

Predominantly 2-pane timber sash and case windows. Piended green-grey slate roof with lead ridges. Coped wallhead stacks with circular cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen 2000.

GATEPIERS AND BOUNDARY WALLS: square-plan gatepiers with shallow pyramidal caps to S, low rough-faced coped granite walls between; rubble walls to remainder.
