Description
The Ferryhill Railway Viaduct in Aberdeen was designed by Lock and Errington and completed in 1848. This 11-span railway viaduct crosses the River Dee and features 7 principal spans supported by steel trusses on granite and sandstone piers. The piers are corniced with cutwaters, which contribute to the crenellated parapet that is topped with mesh railings. Additionally, there are 4 round-arched sandstone approach spans, which have polished arch rings and coped parapets.
