Description
Auld Brig in Ayr is a historic bridge built between 1470 and 1525, with numerous repairs made in the 16th and 17th centuries. It was restored by James Morris and WS Wilson from 1907 to 1910. The bridge is constructed of coursed, squared sandstone and features a distinctive hogback shape with stepped coping. It has four segmental stone arches supported by voussoirs and cutwaters, along with curved wingwalls. The parapet includes lamp standards, adding to its character.
