Description
Erected on a westerly slope in the corner of a field behind the farmhouse. It is of unmortared rounded granite boulders and stands to a maximum height of 3m. A c.7m long stone-faced ramp has been built out from a break in slope to facilitate loading of its 2.2m diameter pot. The opening to the drawhole faces west and measures 1.25m wide by 2.0m high, with a granite lintel; the jambs are of large squared blocks. The opening steps down in three stages and narrows inwards to the drawhole proper. The top is overgrown but it survives in reasonable condition.
