Description
A National School, first depicted on an Ordnance Survey map from 1860, originally stood on the site near Bog Road, Rathfriland. Construction likely occurred between 1840 and 1859. The original building, described in a 1970 survey, was a single-storey structure with harled and whitewashed walls, a slated roof, and one rendered chimney. It featured three double-hung windows with full glazing bars. A lean-to porch with two windows, possessing vertical glazing bars, was noted as a later addition. The building resembled a small school. The original building has since been demolished and replaced with a modern bungalow. The site is located in the townland of Ballygorian More.
