Bridge, Drumcru, Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh, BT92 0QT

This is a utilitarian bridge located at Drumcru, Lisnaskea, County Fermanagh. Likely dating from the early 18th century, with widening work probably occurring in the mid-19th century, the bridge carries a two-lane road over a stream. The bridge's construction date is further refined to approximately 1820-1839.

The bridge features two small semicircular arches. The upstream (east) facade is of random rubble limestone with rock-faced voussoirs. A rounded cutwater, topped with a dome, rises to the level of the arch crown. The downstream facade is of finely dressed limestone blocks with similar dressed voussoirs, but without a cutwater. Although no visible trace remains, the bridge’s width indicates it was probably widened at some point. Concrete footings have been added around the abutments and piers. Both parapets have been rebuilt recently using random rubble, replicating the original construction; however, the original rock-faced coping blocks have been preserved. A pipe runs across the downstream face.

The bridge appears on the 1834 Ordnance Survey 6-inch map (Co Fermanagh sheet 39). The bridge possesses industrial archaeological interest.
