Description
This is a former thatched house situated on Seacoast Road, Ballymultimber, near Magilligan, Limavady, County Londonderry. It was originally recorded in 1973 as a “harled and whitened cottage with a roped thatched roof and a chimney on either gable,” featuring four small sashed windows on the front elevation. The property is noted on an Ordnance Survey map from 1832. The house has undergone significant renovation and is no longer recognisable as a traditional thatched dwelling, having been roofed with asbestos slate and rendered. Modern windows have been installed, and a 1970s bungalow-style extension now projects to the front. It is currently in private ownership and retains some vernacular characteristics.
