The site at 214 Baranailt Road, Tartnakilly, Limavady, now contains a replacement two-storey dwelling house built on the location of a former vernacular cottage. The approach road, some trees, and a single-storey barn remain as part of the landscape.

The original cottage, described in a 1970 Historic Buildings Survey, was likely constructed around 1840. It was a two-storey house with harled and whitened walls, a slated roof, and rendered chimneys. All windows were double-hung with full glazing. The front door was flanked by a triple window on one side and a single window on the other, with three single windows on the first floor. A single-storey annex was attached and roofed with corrugated iron. However, the cottage was not depicted on the 1848 Ordnance Survey map, nor recorded in the 1858 Griffith’s Valuation, suggesting a construction date no earlier than 1860 when William Young was renting ‘mountain’ from J Ogilby.

The cottage was originally listed in 1975, re-designated as banded B1 in 1993, and was demolished in 1994 following a misunderstanding regarding its listed status. It was formally delisted on 21 July 1995. The building's style was vernacular.
