Description

The standing stone, located in the field at Altimure Road, Fincarn, Co. Londonderry, dates back before 1600. It is a substantial, freestanding upright stone, approximately 1350mm high and somewhat triangular in shape, situated in the middle of a grass field previously used as grazing land. The stone appears as a monument and is recorded on the Ordnance Survey Map of 1830, with a revision in 1905, and is referenced in the Ordnance Survey Memoirs. It is held within the Northern Ireland Sites and Monuments Record under reference LDY 30/17. The stone is privately owned and is not listed.
