Fountain outside Main Street, Killylea, Armagh

This is a fountain located on Main Street, Killylea, Armagh. It dates from between 1900 and 1919. The fountain features a plain, fluted column topped with a fluted cap and an acorn finial. The column is inscribed with ‘7D1’ and ‘Glenfield and Kennedy Ltd/Kilmarnock’. The pump itself has been removed. Historical maps from 1905 and 1952 show no pump at this precise location, but one is depicted further down the street. The fountain was removed between 1996 and 2006 as part of environmental improvements. It is noted as derelict and possesses some industrial archaeological interest.
