Fountain, Outside 9 Main Street, Tobermore, Magherafelt, Co Londonderry

A water fountain dating from between 1920 and 1939, situated in a prominent roadside location in the centre of Tobermore. It contributes to the group value of listed buildings in the village, particularly alongside another rotary type pump. The fountain is a standard Glenfield & Kennedy design, featuring a plain shaped, fluted column and a fluted cap topped with an acorn finial. An inscription reads "Glenfield & Kennedy Ld/Kilmarnock" at the top of the column, while the base is inscribed with only "Glenfield". The fountain was not depicted on Ordnance Survey maps of 1905 or 1926 (reference OS10/5/36/14/1 and 2). The fountain is of industrial archaeological interest and holds local historical significance reflecting social and cultural importance. It is owned by the local government.
