13 Main Street, Kircubbin, Newtownards, Co. Down, BT22 2SS

This is a two-storey, double-fronted terrace house likely dating from the early nineteenth century, situated at the northern end of Main Street in Kircubbin, County Down. It is part of a terrace of three properties.

The front (east) elevation features an off-centre timber panel front door, a tripartite PVC window to the left, and a smaller single window to the right. Four similarly sized, but slightly smaller, windows are located on the first floor. All openings have plain moulded surrounds. The façade is finished with lined render and chamfered quoins. The exposed south gable is blank and rendered with lines; it has a brown brick chimney. The rear elevation exhibits a mix of PVC windows and a central, full-height hipped roof return. The main roof is pitched and covered with asbestos slates, and a yellow brick chimney, decorated with dentilled corbelling, is shared with numbers 9 and 11.

A terrace is depicted on the Ordnance Survey map of 1834, including a post office at number 11, which remains in its original location. A photograph from around 1910, part of the Green Collection, shows the buildings appearing very similar to their current form, with matching door and window openings. However, the front door of number 13 was originally embellished with pilasters, a lintel, and a cornice, which were recently removed. The house was originally constructed between 1820 and 1839.
