5-9 Castle Street, Antrim

The terrace at 5-9 Castle Street, Antrim, was a two-storey, nine-bay building likely dating to the mid-Victorian period, potentially constructed between 1840 and 1859. It was demolished to make way for a car park. The building had rendered walls with quoins at one end and slated roofs. Rendered chimneys were present, and the chimneys were made of red brick. All windows were double-hung with full glazing bars. The entrances to numbers 5 and 7 featured panelled doors topped by plain, rectangular fanlights. Number 9 had a shop front with double doors flanked by twin four-pane windows, each with elliptical arched heads over twin lights. The building was located within the Town Parks townland and was situated within a conservation area. It was delisted on 25 June 1990.
