Whiteabbey Railway Station, Station Road, Whiteabbey, Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, BT37 0AQ

The Whiteabbey Railway Station was a multi-bay, single-storey building constructed around 1850. It comprised a long red brick range with a two-storey block at the north end. The building featured yellow brick detailing around the window openings, which were later blocked up. Across from the main building on the opposite side of the railway tracks stood a platform shelter dating back to the B.D.Wise era. This shelter was built from red brick with timber framing and had a large, overhanging roof supported by an interesting truss system, with fretted bargeboards. A stone bridge spanned the railway at the north end of the platforms. While the main station building was constructed between 1863 and 1864, the waiting room accommodation on the down platform was a later addition, likely from the 1890s. The building was not listed during the First Survey and has since been demolished.
