Description

Fernagh Estate is a late 1940s development of two-storey terraced houses located off Station Road and Fernagh Road in Newtownabbey, County Antrim. Designed by Thomas Arlon McGrath for Ulster Garden Villages Ltd., the houses are characterised by white-painted rendered walls, flat roofs, and some doorways with pediments. The development was not included in the First Survey and is presently considered to lack significant historical or architectural interest warranting a formal survey. While the original layout remains intact, alterations to many windows and changes to the façade colours have diminished the original visual unity of the group.
