Description

This is a house dating from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of painted rubble with a double Roman tile roof, featuring two brick stacks, a single ashlar stack, and coped verges. The house is single-storey with an attic, comprising one bay and two bays. It has 2-light casement windows with glazing bars; those to the attic storey are in gabled semi-dormers, one with a hipped roof, and another early 3-light casement is located to the right of the ground floor. A virtually central door opening has a plank door set within a four-centred wooden surround and a thatched hood supported by rustic timbers. The interior includes a cross passage, with plank and muntin partitions on either side. There are exposed ceiling beams, and broad fireplaces in the ground floor rooms to the left and right, each with a wooden bressumer. The room to the extreme right of the ground floor contains reused 17th-century panelling, while a reused painted 17th-century door is found within a plank and muntin partition.
