Description
The Grange is a house built in the early 19th century, featuring a rendered exterior with ashlar quoins and a hipped slate roof. It has wide bracketed eaves and rendered stacks at both ends. The symmetrical front has two storeys and three bays, with 12-pane sash windows that have reeded architraves and stepped voussoirs. The central door is set in a segmental-headed recess and consists of a six-panelled design, with the top four panels glazed and a fanlight above that has radiating glazing bars. A stone portico with a flat entablature, decorated with paterae and a moulded cornice, is supported by two Tuscan columns, with similar pilasters on the wall.
To the right, there is a single-storey outshut that is set back, featuring a two-light casement window with decorative gothick glazing bars. Inside, the house retains many original features. To the left, there is a rubble garden wall with plain coping, which includes two pointed arch door openings and plank doors, along with a further pointed arch gateway topped with a wrought-iron gate. At the east end of the property, there is a small brick garden room with a segmental triple Roman tile roof.
