Description
This is a 17th-century cottage that was restored in 1965. It features roughcast over rubble and a thatched roof, with tall brick stacks at the gable ends. One large external stack is partially obscured by a bay. The cottage is single storey, with a slate roof adorned with decorative tiles, and includes a colourwashed rubble addition with a small stack rising from the eaves on the left. There is also a thatched privy set in the angle with a stack. The plan consists of two cells and a cross passage that has been modified. The building has one and a half storeys and three bays, with late 19th-century windows including two-light dormer casements flanking a four-light dormer. On the ground floor, there are two two-light casements flanking a central half-glazed door, which is sheltered by an asbestos-roofed porch. Inside, the cottage has chamfered beams with scroll stops, and a collar and principal roof supported by four pairs of trusses.
