Description

The Waggon and Horses Inn is an inn that likely dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of local stone that has been rendered and colourwashed, topped with plain clay tiled roofs. The building features mostly plain gables, with a hip roof on the south wing, and has brick chimney stacks. The inn is designed in an 'L' shape and consists of two storeys with attics. The main house has two bays, while there is a two-bay extension and a three-bay return wing that forms a central forecourt. The main building is adorned with 12-pane sash windows, which have louvred shutters on the sides, and there is a projecting porch with a hipped slate roof between the bays. The extension includes a 12-pane sash window in the lower bay one, with small pane casements for the remaining bays, and a boarded door situated between the bays. The return wing features a combination of sash windows and small-pane casements that match the other sections of the building. The interior has not been seen.
