Description

The building is the original offices for the Ansford Factory, likely constructed in 1851. It is made from Hadspen stone that has been cut and squared, topped with a Welsh slate roof between coped gables. The structure is two storeys high and features five bays, along with a later linking bay that connects to the main mill building. The sash windows have 16 panes and are set in plain openings, with voussoirs and keystones above flat arches that stand out. There is no window in the lower part of bay three. The entrance door is from the 20th century and is located in the lower part of bay one. The link extension matches the original design, but its sash windows have four panes. The interiors have been somewhat modified. This building was part of the original horsehair and general weaving establishment of John Boyd, who moved it from South Cary to the grounds of Ochiltree House in 1851.
