Description
Monks Mill is a cottage dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with coped verges and a slate roof, featuring one ashlar and one rendered ridge stack. The building is designed in a Gothick style and has two storeys with two bays. It includes casement windows with glazing bars and traceried heads set in pointed dressed stone surrounds. The central door opening also has a similar dressed stone surround, with a plank door and a fanlight that matches the style. At the rear, there is a catslide roof and a broad segmental-headed carriageway, which is now blocked by a casement and a doorway with a plank door.
