Description

Upper Hook Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage constructed from local stone that is roughly squared and coursed, topped with a Welsh slate roof featuring plain gables and brick end chimney stacks. The building stands two storeys high and consists of three bays. The outer bays each have 16-pane sash windows set in voussoired, slightly segmental arched openings. The upper bay in the center has a matching 12-pane sash window, while below it is a 6-panel door that is sheltered by a small bracketed timber hood with a pitched metal-covered roof. The interior has not been seen but is reported to be little altered. This cottage forms a good pair with the adjoining Lower Hook Cottage to the east gable.
