Description
No. 1 High Street is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of random rubble Doulting stone with ashlar quoin and features a stone slate roof with a coped gable and an end chimney stack that has a pair of octagonal, capped, ashlar flues. The building is two stories tall and has a two-window front with the entrance located on the left side. The door is a six-panel design, fielded and moulded, set within a chamfered stone square head surround.
On the ground floor, there is a three-light, chamfered stone mullion window that includes a central eight-pane casement window flanked by two eight-pane fixed lights. The first floor features a two-light, ogee moulded wood mullion window with eight-pane casements beneath a wood lintel, as well as a two-light chamfered stone mullion window that has an eight-pane sash and an eight-pane fixed light, all under a stopped dripmould.
